This weekend marked Matchday 15 of Major League Soccer (MLS), after which the North American league will take a long break for the World Cup. Following the results, Nashville finishes atop the Eastern Conference, while in the West, the Vancouver Whitecaps and San Jose Earthquakes are tied for first place.
One of the best players of the matchday was Luis Suárez, after scoring a hat trick in the thrilling match that Inter Miami won 6-4 against the Philadelphia Union. However, the Brazilian Evander was named the best player of the matchday for scoring two goals in FC Cincinnati’s 6-2 victory over Orlando City.
Among other matches, another thrilling game was the one between D.C. United and Montreal, which ended in a 4-4 tie at Audi Field. In the West, the Whitecaps beat San Diego FC 2-4, and the Earthquakes defeated the Portland Timbers 1-3, putting both teams tied for first place. And Nashville SC remains firmly at the top of the Eastern Conference after defeating New York City FC 2-1.
