Jax Latin Media
also known as Jax Latin Radio, was founded by Miguel Ruiz, a former Peruvian professional soccer player and media entrepreneur based in the United States.
The project was launched in 2008 as a digital radio and television platform (WJLM – DB), with the goal of informing and connecting the Hispanic community through live, up-to-date, and internationally focused sports coverage. The name “Jax” refers to Jacksonville, Florida, where the company is headquartered, and symbolizes the link between sports, the Latino community, and global news.
Currently, Miguel Ruiz serves as General Producer, leading a multidisciplinary team of journalists, analysts, editors, and contributors based in the United States, Peru, and other parts of the world. Jax Latin Media is part of MKR Group LLC, a company legally registered in the state of Florida (U.S.), with headquarters in Jacksonville.
From the United States, Miguel Ruiz serves as the outlet’s lead voice and provides high-level international coverage, including MLS, the Copa América, the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, and the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
